We started GooPetCare because most pet advice online falls into one of two camps: clinical articles written for veterinary students, or thin listicles that repeat the same five tips without ever telling you what to actually do on a Tuesday night when your dog won’t stop scratching. We wanted something in between — writing that respects your intelligence, explains the reasoning behind a recommendation, and admits when the honest answer is “call your vet.”

How We Write Our Articles
Every article on GooPetCare is written and edited by a real person. We do not publish content we haven’t read end to end.
Our approach is straightforward:
- We research each topic against reputable sources — veterinary teaching hospitals, established animal welfare organisations, peer-reviewed literature, and manufacturer guidance where relevant.
- We prioritise information that is actionable. If we tell you a symptom matters, we tell you what to do about it.
- We flag the limits of general advice. Pets vary enormously by breed, age, size, and medical history, and we say so rather than pretending one answer fits every animal.
- We update articles when guidance changes or when we get something wrong. If you spot an error, please tell us — we would genuinely rather be corrected than be confidently wrong in public.
